Device Guides

One page per supported instrument: what you need, how to install its connector, a first successful test, and the quirks to know about.

Each device guide gets you from an unboxed instrument to a first successful command, and stops there — the vendor manual covers everything about operating the device itself. Guides are grouped by what the instrument does.

Liquid handlers (Hamilton STAR and Vantage, Agilent Bravo, Tecan Fluent and EVO) have their own how-to guides under Operate, because pipetting needs the deck and labware model first.

The full list of supported devices — 220 and counting — is on the UniteLabs Hub; this table grows as guides are written.

What every guide contains

  1. What you need — model, cable, drivers or vendor software, the connector to install.
  2. Install and configure the connector — the GroundControl steps and the configuration fields that matter for this device.
  3. First successful test — one copy-paste script from "connected" to "it did something".
  4. Known quirks and errors — what an error means and what to do, grown from every onboarding.
  5. More snippets, the connector reference, and where the vendor documentation takes over.
